Going for therapy doesn’t mean you’re crazy

In Nigeria we don’t do therapy, we bottle everything up and eventually we will get better. Lol..

That’s not true by the way.

Nigeria is a country where you tell someone “I have an appointment with a therapist today ”. Immediately they’ll perceive you to have some kind of mental issue(this was a regular thing in the past). However, with the advancement of technology and the effort taken to keep one’s mental health in check things are different. Although we still have those people that’ll still think you’re crazy.

Whatever society you find yourself, don’t let the norms and beliefs stop you from taking care of yourself however you feel like. If you need someone to talk to, book an appointment with a therapist or turn to a friend. Because eventually if what you’re going through eats up until it is visible on the outside most people won’t care and they would still look at you and call you crazy.

Do what you have to do. You’re not crazy, you’re just going through a lot.
